Automatic welding robots have the characteristics of stable welding quality,
improved working conditions for workers, and increased labor productivity.
They are widely used in industries such as automobiles, engineering machinery,
general machinery, metal structures, and weapons industries. According to
incomplete statistics, about half of the industrial robots in service worldwide

and the growth rate of welding robots has exceeded 60%; in 2004, the number of domestic
industrial robots exceeded 1,400, and the number of imported robots exceeded 9,000,
most of which were used in the welding field; in 2005, the number of new robots in my
country exceeded 5,000, but only accounted for 6% of the new number in Asia, far less than
South Korea's 15%, and far less than Japan's 69%. Such a growth rate is obviously not
matched with my country's economic development speed and economic volume, which shows
that the automation level of my country's manufacturing industry needs to be further improved.
On the other hand, it also reflects the low labor cost in my country, and the improvement
of the automation level of manufacturing industry and the application of industrial robots is limited.
The application of automatic welding robots has ushered in a rare development opportunity.
On the one hand, with the development of technology, the price of welding robots continues
to decline and their performance continues to improve; on the other hand, labor costs continue to rise.
The development of my country's economy, from a manufacturing power to a manufacturing powerhouse,
requires the improvement of processing methods, the improvement of product quality and the increase
of corporate competitiveness. All this indicates that there is huge room for the application and development of robots.
